Library workers make libraries work.
CUPE 1230 is a member of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). CUPE is Canada’s largest union, representing approximately 700,000 members across multiple sectors, including health care, education, municipalities, libraries, universities, social services, public utilities, transportation, emergency services and airlines.
CUPE 1230 represents over 400 workers at University of Toronto Libraries (UTL) across 30+ departments. UTL workers are committed professionals who proudly serve users of Canada’s largest academic library system in the heart of Canada’s largest city. Collectively, they enable UTL to meet the information needs of the entire University community including: current faculty, staff, students, researchers, alumni and professors emeritus.
