Our Local comprises two bargaining units. If you are a salaried (temporary or permanent) worker, see FT & PT. If you are a student worker (casual), see Student Casuals.

FAQ

Why are there multiple files and how do I use them?

Once we bargain a new Collective Agreement, we finalise the full text updates with the Employer. We are awaiting the Employer's fulfilment of their responsibility to finalise and deliver the full-text agreement updates for 2023-2026, now outdated by multiple cycles.

To use, refer to the full-text 2017-2020 agreement and check any updates to provisions in the more recent memorandums.

Bylaws

The CUPE 1230 bylaws outline how the Union operates, the extent of its powers, its responsibilities, the rights and duties of its members, and how representatives are elected. Please contact your section steward or a member of the executive if you have any questions.

Benefits

CUPE 1230 has negotiated benefits for full-time and part-time members as part of the FT-PT collective agreement. This includes provisions for the following:

Pensions

Pensions for CUPE 1230 members are provided through the University Pension Plan of Ontario (UPP).  After speaking to the employer, if you have further questions or concerns, please reach out to your section steward or a member of the executive.
